12/01/21 - Thrifting With The Aunts
My two aunts and I had plans to celebrate both mine, and one of their birthdays today. Mine was on Thanksgiving Day on the 25th and her's was the 28th. As we do every year, we went thrift shop hopping and out to a delicious lunch! Our first stop was See's candy - so that my aunt could buy her christmas gifts to send out! There I encountered a black and white starry night card, and a succulent birthday card. The second stop was this lovely cat themed thrift shop. Part of their profits go towards rescuing cats which makes shopping there all the more fun. I managed to find a pair of stylish feather dangling earrings, a boho inspired picture frame, and a skeleton key pin. On a shelf full of trinkets, a message in a bottle stared me in the face causing my hands to gravitate towards it. Next to it was another round jar (being into spiritual conjure, you can never have enough jars) so I had to scoop it up! Lastly was this round wooden box that I'm sure I can find a use for no problem! At lunch one of my aunts suprised us both with small birthday gifts. She gifted me her mother's old wedding ring. She had mentioned she was going to pass it down to my mother before she passed away. Since she was unable to do that she felt it needed to go to me. She instructed I pass it down to a woman in our family in the generations following me. Despite my views on marriage (which she is very aware and understanding of) I agreed appreciatively. Our lunch was sentimental and lengthy! After our bountiful lunch we strolled down the block where there are two thrift stores. One of them happens to be a huge two story antique shop. The only thing i left there with was a long round black pinky ring. I will say I definitley plan on going back there as I remember seeing small red decorated japenese boxes filled with old hand-painted snuff bottles from Japan. Once we were home i obtained my package I got in the post! I'm planning on making a full in depth video on "How To Dye Your Hair Jet Black With Indigo & Henna Powder", something I've done once before. Today was a wonderful day and I'm looking forward to recording this video in the near future!
