12/12/21 - Black Mondo Grass, A Montana Black Air plant, & A Herbarium Notebook
Stopped in the local nursery today and got two new sweethearts. Might I present you with my newest air plant a Montana Black. From what I've researched online - they are a RARE type of air plant. The botanical named airplant "Tillandsia" is gazed upon by many because of its inner black layer. I've always been mesmerized by any sort of black plant. While I was working at a nursery long ago, I'd discovered "Black Magic Petunias" - they very quickly became my all time favorite flower. Next I have Black Mondo grass, which I've discovered - isn't actually grass at all. This "Grass" plant is actually related to lillies. At the very end of the root lies a bulb, much like the bulbs attached to lillies. Not like any other normal kind of grass! I also stumbled upon a lovely notebook decorated with various types of flowers and herbs! Which I'm sure I'll find a use for sooner or later. So, I plan to slowly introduce plants back into my living space and outside. I want to get one or maybe two at a time and thoroughly educate myself on each one!
