12/28/22 - Be Good To A Stranger

 

 

Early last week I went on my annual thrifting excursion with both my aunts and my cousin! We stopped at every thrift store on our route! At one of the shops my cousin and I were ogling at this tiny tin trinket on a shelf. We were cracking jokes, laughing and poking fun when all of a sudden up walks this fantastic looking woman to join in! She stepped out of the house that day in full feather. She was an older woman with curly jet black hair and some sharp azureous eyes. Wearing a long blood orange coat with fuzzy lining, and a red scarf to compliment! Her eye shadow was a sparkly orange to go with that voguish looking coat! We could not stop talking and laughing with one another in the middle of this thrift store! While also taking the time to commend each other on our eye for FASHION! She had such an unparalleled energy! Towards the end of our encounter she mentioned there was a leather coat and pants outfit she was looking to get rid of at her house. She offered it to me saying she'd wanted it to go to a good home! At first, I didn't think anything of it, I thought it was just such a sweet gesture! We had arranged for me to pick it up the day after, because she was going to be out the whole day she said she would put it out on the porch (hidden in a secret place only we knew about). When I go to pick it up the next day I was in absolute disbelief when I realized this was a vintage Saint Laurent black leather outfit! When I texted her thanking her so much she brought up the fact that this outfit had seen many Grateful Dead concerts, been to Holland and many other places. Thank you did not feel right, I was stunned!! The card she gave me is seriously a picture worth a thousand words. Be GOOD to a stranger, pay it forward! Does it have to be a designer outfit? Now of course not. However, kindness is so much more powerful when it is passed along!
